Relaunch in Bocholt and strong resonance in the trade press
After the reorganization in 2025, the entrepreneurial responsibility for the Schmatzepuffer brand was again bundled in Bocholt. The new company location at Im Egeling 21 combines administration, personalization, warehouse, and shipping.
The Borkener Zeitung reported on February 17, 2026, under the headline "Schmatzepuffer back in Bocholter hands" about the relaunch, the family business, and the establishment of the new location.

The industry magazine baby&junior also picked up on the realignment. The specialist article "Focused Realignment" reported on the return of responsibility to Bocholt, the concentration on personalized baby and children's products, and the spatial bundling of important company areas.

Economic Challenges and Reorganization
The year 2025 represented a profound transitional phase. The Borkener Zeitung reported in March 2025 on declining sales, rising costs, and a self-administered restructuring process at the then Schmatzepuffer GmbH.
The economic situation led to a comprehensive review of the previous structures. Subsequently, processes were reduced, the wholesale business was reorganized, and the focus was shifted back to the core business of personalized baby and children's products.
Industry Reports on Expansion and New Products
In 2024, baby&junior reported, among other things, on the opening of a third concept store in Coesfeld and on personalized new products from Schmatzepuffer.
These publications document an earlier expansion phase in the company's history. The Coesfeld location was later closed as part of the 2025 reorganization. The focus today is once again on the online shop and the central location in Bocholt.

Awarded "Baby Specialist Shop of the Year 2022"
In February 2023, Schmatzepuffer received the "Baby Specialist Shop of the Year 2022" award at the Spielwarenmesse (toy fair) in Nuremberg. The title was awarded by the industry magazine baby&junior following a reader poll.
Schmatzepuffer was previously one of six nominated specialist shops. According to the City of Bocholt, the Bocholt concept won the poll by a significant margin.
Regional Engagement in Bocholt
Schmatzepuffer also supported the Advent raffle of the Bocholt City Library with prizes in kind. The proceeds of the campaign benefited the Bocholt food bank.

Public Mention for Extensive Product Donation
KinderEngel RheinMain e. V. reported in June 2021 about an extensive donation in kind from Schmatzepuffer. According to the association, activity cubes and wooden ball runs were provided for an advent calendar and to support other institutions.
The publication documents not only the then product range but also Schmatzepuffer's social commitment to children, families, and social institutions.
